Description:
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Laureate Inc. is currently looking to add a qualified Technical Developer to our staff. This individual will participate in application development, needed enhancements, and project work for the PeopleSoft Financial/Supply Chain system. The position will be involved in a variety of projects, including new module installations, existing application maintenance and PeopleSoft enhancements.

This position is focused on key business applications that support the Laureate Higher Education Group and Corporate finance organizations and is located in Baltimore, MD.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in production support resolution as required
  • Assist in project deliverables as required
  • Defining and conducting system tests and system validation
  • Work with business analysts to understand and document program development requirements
  • Develop technical documentation for all deliverables
  • Develop and maintain project documentation and
    deliverables as required by software development lifecycle and project
    lifecycle.

Experience:
TECHNICAL, MANAGERIAL, and PEOPLE SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • PeopleSoft developer with demonstrated proficiency in all phases of PeopleSoft development life cycle, from requirements analysis, systems design, development, testing, deployment and support of PeopleSoft v9.x Financials applications (GL, AP, AM, PO, EXP, ePro).
  • 5 to 7 years experience as a PeopleSoft developer on development projects
  • Must have used standard IT methodologies, performed business analysis and documentation.
  • Identify problems and/or potential issues to formulate systemic solutions or propose business process alternatives to meet business requirements.
  • 24x7 Production Support experience for PeopleSoft Applications
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and provide quick user response
  • Knowledge of Oracle Database and Application tuning
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and debugging skills
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Propensity and willingness to learn new technologies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; has clear understanding of business procedures; and the ability to work as result oriented team player as well as an individual
  • Business Areas PS Financials (GL, AP, AM, PO, Expenses and eProcurement)
  • Workflow and PeopleSoft Security development experience
  • Languages SQL and PL/SQL
  • Operating Systems UNIX, Windows XP/NT
  • Development Tools: People Tools (8.x) (Application designer, Application Engine, PeopleCode, Application Messaging, Integration Broker, Data Mover, Component Interface, and File Layouts) and SQL-Plus
  • Reporting Tool SQR, PSQuery and Crystal
  • Data Bases Oracle 10g (or higher)



EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from four-year college or university
  • At least five years related experience and/or
    training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
